New year, New skin

I’ve had oily/combination skin since I can remember. I use to powder my face in Secondary School I was that conscious about it. Looking back I realise that it was all down to what make-up and skincare I used, which of course, I had no knowledge of when I was 15. Now I know (nearly everything) about working with my skin and have found the products that work for me a (post about what make-up I use for my skin is coming soon). However these recently trialled and purchased Neal’s Yard Remedies products have SAVED my skin’s life I’m not sure how I functioned without them. I’ also addicted to the smell, they remind me of something from my childhood but I can’t quite put my finger on it, and it’s just like going to the spa with these products:

The Organic Facial Wipes // £5.50 These are perfect for when you just can’t be bothered to do a proper cleanse to remove make-up but you still want it taken off well. Neal’s Yard’s products remind me of a spa and the smells instantly relax me. There are 25 wipes in a pack and they’re full of antioxidants and aloe vera which is great for sensitive skin and sun-burn if you’re skiing/getting some Winter sun. If you are jetting off somewhere lovely, this packet of wipes is a lot more space-saving, than packing the many cleansing and make-up removing products you have in your cabinets.

The Purifying Palmarosa Daily Moisture // £25.00 For those of you who have oily skin this will feel like heaven when you apply the moisturiser on your skin. You can almost feel it getting to work, mattifying your skin, as soon as you apply it. The texture is thin, almost like a serum, and tightens your skin a few minutes after application. At £25 it seems quite steep but it lasts longer than your average moisturiser (the packaging is also so gorgeous you can’t resist).

As I’m on a student budget I have no choice but to stick to the cheaper beauty options and I’ve never spent over £25 on a bottle of anything. However when I became addicted to the sample sachets of this product I knew I had to save extra hard and save on this life-changing bottle. The Neal’s Yard Remedies Puryifying Palmarosa Mattifier is my now can’t live without product. It’s a creamy serum used underneath make up, I put a layer on before primer, in order to control shine. I know, how many times have we seen “controls shine” on product advertising, but this actually works. I found throughout out a whole day of wearing make-up there was no need to blot or apply more powder. That’s a big deal.

If I had to choose one it would be the Puryifying Palamarosa Mattifier. I saw a huge difference when I started using it and it reduces the need to powder my face throughout the day. This is a life-saver for those with oily skin.
